Welcome to Term Two from Mrs Knighton

Dear Parents

Welcome back after what I hope has been a relaxing and enjoyable half term break.

The first term of the school year was a great success and the children all much enjoyed their topic, All About Us. Personally, it has been a real pleasure getting to know your children all of whom have been extremely welcoming and positive about their school. Our new children have settled in to school life very well as witnessed by the wonderful Harvest celebration which all the children took part in. Thank you to so many of you who joined us on the day.

We are all now much looking forward to a busy term leading up to the Christmas productions and the children are very excited about the school’s new topic: Fire! The year 6 children will be taking part in Bikeability as well as a Cluster Netball tournament. We look forward to seeing you all at parents’ evenings and FOBS are running their film night on Friday 11th November as well as the Christmas Grotto on Sunday 11th December.

The Governors will be sending out a parent questionnaire in your child’s bag today. We would be most grateful if you would spend a few minutes completing the questionnaire as we do want to know what you consider are the strengths of the school as well as any areas which we need to work on. We will be completing a similar exercise with the children in school.

I know that the Governors have also sent you an invite to my commissioning service which is at 2.15pm on Friday 4th November. I would be delighted if you were able to join us at this special event.
